Had an interesting experience on the Boston-Providence MBTA. Got on at Back Bay and proceeded to my usual seating. I'm one of those table people, but it is a lot easier to cut a bagel on those than the seats. Just before reaching them, two young fellows bounded into the seats and spread out.
