Yesterday I went to the volunteer orientation at the animal shelter, which went well. There were a lot of people there. I hope I can be strong enough to love the animals while I'm there and not bring all of them home with me!
Then Lee and I went to see Pirates 3, which was, predictably, AWESOME. I liked it much better than Dead Man's Chest. But nothing will ever top the freshness and fabulosity that was Curse of the Black Pearl. Sorry to disappoint, mates.
Today, since completing my 3.25 hours of work at the church, I have just been lazy. Enjoying my day off. I watched Addams Family Values, which still rocks. Wednesday Addams is my hero, and she shares my preference for dorky boys. Then I watched Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story, which, surprisingly, gave me an "ew" reaction. I usually like Family Guy, but that was just too much. And now I'm watching Flowers in the Attic, which goes beyond "ew." Although the movie does not seem to contain some of the novel (which I have never read, but know by reputation)'s more controversial elements of the sort that got lots of fandom communities banned from LJ. And the musical score sounds eerily like the score of Buffy-- namely "Hush."
Why do scary old ladies in movies always punish girls by cutting off their hair? I guess it's supposed to be a vanity thing.
