Yesterday was
saraphm's wedding, which was a sweet and simple ceremony in an Episcopal church in Farragut followed by an AMAZING reception at this white rentable house facility I had driven by thousands of times but never known what it was... turns out it has a magnificent garden with like, five fountains behind it. They had tons of food and a BRITISH INVASION COVER BAND. Lee and I both had an awesome time with Jessica, David, Cindy, and Derrick... even did some dancing, believe it or not. Sarah was a beautiful bride, with perfect taste in wedding colors (green and white, with the personalized M&Ms to boot)
and she throws a hell of a party! Their first dance song was "In My Life," which I never would have thought of, but it works. And the groom cut a pretty good rug for a guy who just had major knee surgery.
I had two glasses of wine, and um, I'm a lightweight, so Cindy ended up giving me a ride home, which was fortunate because I COULD NOT FIND THE SIDEWALK. Whoops.
So, I blew off work last night, which killed my motivation to go in for overtime today (my actual scheduled day off), especially since today was
missdevon42's birthday and
black_magdalene was in town, and I had not seen
black_magdalene in over three years, but that did not stop her from sharing her vegetarian sushi with me. AND THEN we went to Wal-Mart and found the game of Life-- Pirates of the Caribbean edition. I am not joking. We got Lee and Ely to come over and play. It is the coolest game ever. You get to pick out a captain and a ship and a mascot, and collect loot. I highly recommend this game. Although I have not yet seen Pirates 3, so please do not spoil me
There was also a round of Disney Scene It, which is harder than you would think. Devon beat me!
All in all, it's been a fun couple of days, and I am happy.
