So somehow I've managed to survive my first term of my teacher training, along with completing my first teaching practice and catching the flu for the first time along the way. I even managed a weekends away to visit Ellwood and then Louby, didn't miss a single match or miss a single episode of Hollyoaks. The latter was as much of an achievement as the former. Technically I don't finish until Friday, however we have independent study today and are still supposed to be in school on Thursday only my school closes for Christmas today and I'd be the only one there. There are still lectures on Friday morning but since all the undergraduates finish today, the colleges close and the university basically shuts down there's no way I'm wasting the petrol to go up to a ghost town for maths. And we always go down Boro on the lash on the Friday afternoon before Christmas so that has to take president after the term I've had. If one more person says that all students are lay abouts or that teachers have it easy I'll first get them to take a look at my life since September before ripping off their arm and beating them to death with it.
Next term is going to be just as hard but thankfully I know what I'm going a bit more now. I'm off until January 5th but have a shitload of stuff to do until then. I have a week in school just for planning (the bane of my existence) then I'm back teaching for a month before going back to uni for lectures, then I have my EAL placement in Middlesbrough, more lectures then my two month placement in key stage 2, luckily because of SATs I won't be having year 6, although that would have been great experience. I still have a long way to go but sometimes have to stop and look at what I've already completed. I've done my first placement, my early years placement, my special needs placement and have written a 5000 word M.A assignment. Quite a lot to complete in ten weeks really!
In other news, Alexandra Burke's version of Hallelujah was a really bad move, makes me want to hurt myself. was right, Simon Cowell's definitely going to hell for that. Jeff Buckley must be turning in his grave; does the world really need yet another version of that song? Alistair Griffith will probably be joining Simon Cowell in hell for his 'Mark Viduka' version, that is if the Boro Boot Boys don't get to him first.
In yet more news; Real Madrid are apparently interested in Adam Johnson - have they actually seen him play?! Real Madrid, honestly! Is this what it's like to support a decent club?
