[Backtracked to Dec. 25th]

Dec 29, 2010 11:21

(ooc: EXTREMELY DELAYED because I ended up in Vermont in a cabin with almost no internet --one bar that was being shared between five families. *HEADDESK* ANYWAYS, after a night of real sleep, I should be actually back now...)

This is... such a strange and marvelous holiday. I've heard of Christmas, but this is the first time I have actually seen it in front of my eyes. People are smiling and singing everywhere, regardless of their age or religion. Also, I have never seen so many beautiful trees! Egypt doesn't have many trees, and it certainly doesn't have the type that everyone likes to decorate with those pretty lights.

And snow! I wasn't sure what to make of it when I first saw it falling a few days ago. Do people actually... PLAY in it? It's beautiful, but I don't know if I want to touch it. It seems too fragile to be touched and much too cold to be enjoyable. Anubis seems to enjoy it though, and I've let him outside to run around every morning. I do miss sand though, it's much warmer to curl up in.

[ACTION: Presents]

Sadiq - Giant chess set with usable shot glasses and a nice, giant bowl of falafel.
Mother - Hand-made/painted statue of the cat goddess Bastet.
Liz - Arabian-style gold earring and necklace set.
Garcia - A Scarab pendant, for creativity, life and protection.
Alfred -  A rather ridiculous Giza pyramid LEGO set. (ooc: You are never too old for Legos!)
Yao - Hand-crafted Neo-Egyptian vase. (ooc: ...because they did meet a long time ago and I seriously ran out of ideas. XD)
