*nodnod* I don’t know how we were expected to take them seriously- except for taking the characters and filling-in-the-blanks and substituting all the awesomeness that fandom can come up with for the epic fail that was actually the written text.
Except Dumbeldore/Grindelwald. That one did actually make sense.
Holy crap, IKR? DD went from being this benevolent, kindly old genial grandfather to EVIL INCARNATE and it made sense. I hate what she did, because I was so disillusioned, but as opposed to Hermione and tons of others, this 180 turn in characterization was actually well-reasoned and developed. *amazed*
I mean, he was buddies with basically the wizard Hitler, he even shared his agenda and opinions, gosh! And then they had a falling-out/bad break-up and DD let him go on for a few years, killing people and victimizing Muggles, before he finally confronted him- because he was so ashamed of his ex and dealing with who he used to be. Ha, that fits with his character, DD hates to admit he was ever wrong, and coming face-to-face with the guy he was childhood buddies or possibly more with would bring that all up..
