Snurched from Anuna
1. Who is your favorite SG-1 character?
Vala. Completely in love.
2. Who is your favorite Atlantis character?
Elizabeth. I drive people crazy talking about her all the time.
3. What is your favorite SG-1 episode?
Ummm...So hard to choose, but I'll say Bad Guys.
4. Who is your favorite villain? (in SG-1)
Ba'al! He breaks the boring ol' Goa'uld system lord mould by possessing a sense of humor and wit! I love his line in the Quest where there's some obstacle in their way and it's dangerous and he goes, 'Uh, you go ahead, I'll support you from here.' He's not *pompous*, you know? Full of himself, smug and way too cocky, but god, he's amusing.
5. Who is your favourite villain? (in Atlantis)
I would've said Kolya, but the writers ruined him for me with those cheesy deaths....who else is there...? Actually, I will go with Kolya- it's a good villain who can still make you respect him despite the writers' efforts to make him dumb and foolish. The acting was so good, he really makes me shiver, it was the script that failed him.
6. P-90 or Zat?
Zat. So much more efficient, it's quieter, it leaves no evidence behind if you fire at someone three times, and it seems to have unlimited energy. Also, it's a great weapon for when a team mate is under an alien influence and isn't acting of their own volition and you need to neutralize them, preferably without wounding or killing them or inflicting permanent damage. Why aren't all teams armed with them? It's only when the odd replicator threat crops up that guns are needed, and they're generally useless in the long-term anyway.
7. You'll be...Jaffa or Tok'ra?
Tok'ra, duh. Why would I want to be a slave with a larvae in my gut when I can have another consciousness to chat with, share its years of wisdom and knowledge, and enjoy the health benefits? Oh, AND operate cool technology that'll let me mentally throw people around or mess with their minds and stuff. Heh.
8. Goa'uld mother ship or X-303?
X -303. Much cooler lookin'.
9. Ori or Ancient?
I have to agree with Anuna. The Ancients were dumb, they were short-sighted and they were irresponsible. They're the reason that the Ori are invading our galaxy and their decision is to hang back and just put the burden on SG-1's shoulders and let everyone die if SG-1 couldn't handle it? I wanted to weep for Daniel in Ark of Truth when he practically begged Morgan to do something, because he'd given everything to try and save his galaxy and it still wasn't enough and she had the power but she wasn't using it, none of them were and they were happy to let a small group of relatively primitive, inexperienced humans try to take on the invading forces with no help at all. At least the Ori's motivations were clear, their objective understandable, their methods made sense, even if it was unjustified and evil and wrong, I got why they did what they did. I'd want absolute power and to make people worship me if I thought I could get away with it, too.
10. Who is the best O'Neill.. Kurt Russell or Richard Dean Anderson?
Omg. You're kidding, right? RDA all the way.
11. The best Daniel Jackson...James Spader or Michael Shanks?
Michael Shanks, come on! Better looking, better as the character, funny and adorable whether he's cracking jokes or being the butt of one or taunting enemy forces.
12. Asgard or Replicator?
Replicator. The Asgards are cute little cliches, but Replicators- even if the name reminds me of the innocuous Star Trek technology- have cool abilities. I'd love to alter my appearance on a whim! Not to mention the ability to mindfrell people, hee. The human form Replicators are pretty closely related to the Borg of Star Trek, and given my user name, you can see that I'd find them more appealing than mere naked little grey dudes.
13. Who is the best leader of Atlantis, Weir or Carter?
WEIR, TOTALLY.
14. Who is best leader of the SGC...Hammond, O'Neill, Weir or Landry?
I love Weir, but her place was on Atlantis. Hammond's was at the SGC. He had a true bond with the personnel, he had a long history with them, he had their respect, he went to bat for SG-1 all the time, never gave up on them, did his best for the base when defending it against the political machinations and conspiracies of various parties, and you can't just can't beat all that.
15. Jonas Quinn or Vala Mal Doran?
Vala! Not a carbon copy of the sci-fi female cliche, she' s such a unique character. We don't usually see women get to be funny, to buck authority and think on their feet and be so open and frivolous and awesome. She got to be the female O'Neill, to bring laughter and fun to the show.
16. Col. Mitchell or Dr. Fraiser?
Ohhh, no matter how much I appreciate Cam on the show, I have to say I'd take Janet over him any day. The writers never seem to get that a character with a long history on the show is not worth sacrificing for a momentary bump up in the ratings because when you keep tearing off pieces of the heart of the show, there's nothing attaching people to it anymore, it's dispensable, it's disposable, it's cheap and commercial and it loses value. How many people care about all the doctors that have followed her? The only one I remember is Lam, and I didn't like her lack of professionalism and her bad attitude, so it's not a mark in their favor.
17. Who would you kill first...Apophis, Baal, Cronos, Hathor, Yu or Anubis?
Anubis. Another example of a mess created by the Ancients that they let loose on the galaxy and don't bother to deal with- I mean, they reinstated Daniel as a human just fine, with no powers or greater knowledge or anything, but ANUBIS gets to have an insane amount of power that lets him get damn close to enslaving the galaxy because of *their* screw-up but we don't see them handling it, oh no. Lazy jerks.
18. Keller or Beckett?
Beckett FTW. Caring, compassionate, so giving of himself, humorous, kind...Keller- the complete opposite of all these things.
19. In a 1 on 1 fight, who would win...Teal'c or Ronon?
Teal'c. All he'd have to do is grab Ronon's dreadlocks, lol. And he's more trained and professional, I think, and because he's got years on Ronon, he'd have all sorts of nasty tricks and clever maneuvers to use on him. He seems to have this 'center' when he's fighting, whereas Ronon randomly flings himself around- you need technique, not just brute force.
20. What is your favourite Atlantis episode?
Ohhh, so tough. Damn it- Sparky eps rule, I can't pick! Uh...Conversion, then. No, wait, TLG! Aww, but the coffee scene in Intruder is so much love...
21. Carter or McKay?
McKay. He's way funnier than her.
22. Dr. Bill Lee or Radek Zelenka?
Zelenka! I mean, he's smart, he's not a bumbling fool- poor Bill never had a chance, he was just comic relief, whereas Zelenka was a serious character with adorable traits that we were allowed to see; his hilarious scenes with McKay, where he's so close to losing his sanity while trying to deal with him, his sweetness to Elizabeth, his heroism on a few occasions.
23. Stargate the movie (1994) or The Ark Of Truth?
Ark of Truth. Has a sense of humor. Has Vala. Has the cutest scenes with Cam and Carter.
24. Major Lorne or Major Davis?
Lorne. The main reason I give for my answers is 'humor', and no exception here. I love his dry wit, the whole scene in Coup d'Etat where he pays out Shep with the whole 'So, uh, you come to rescue us?/Let me know if you need any help' snark after Shep's been captured and they're sharing a jail cell. HA. He's just so cool with his sarcasm.
Also, he's the one that's always cheering up Elizabeth when Shep's missing- telling her that they'll get him [and the others, but mainly Shep] back and it'll be okay and not to worry too much. You can see how much he hates giving her bad news every time they lose track of Shep. I always remember that 'Weir's not going to be happy' line, heh. Poor Lorne, having to cope with her while she's angsting.
25. And finally, SG-1 or Atlantis?
I love the Weir era of Atlantis. No question, it's still an obsession. In terms of overall quality, though, SG-1 did a better job of maintaining my interest and affection for the show throughout its ten year reign, whereas SGA lost me after three years. SGA won in terms of flat-out love and adoration, even if it was short and sweet. SG-1 won In terms of long-term affection and loyalty.
