Damn you. Damn you all to Hell

I hate the news. I really do. Having lived overseas and traveled overseas I am aware of how absolutely, horribly incompetent and skewed the news media in the US is.

For the recent tragedy in Japan and the continuing fallout, I had to go to an Irish news website to stay updated. I couldn't trust American news sources to tell me what was happening.

And now, just about the most final of final straws: An 11 year old girl was gang raped over the course of several months in a small town in Texas. Go look it up. I'll wait. Read the articles? Notice how they all talk about how the rapists' lives will be affected. Or how the town is up torn apart. Did you see any about how horrific this must have been for the 11 year old girl? Nope. Neither did I. Blogs, letters to the editor, yes. They speak of it. The official, supposedly professional, paid news reporters? No. Not a word. There's video of multiple men ranging in age from 14 to 27 having sex with an 11 year old. An *11* year old. And CNN and CBS have the gall to say the rape is "alleged." The townspeople are saying the *11* year old was "asking for it." I don't fucking care who you are or think you are, an 11 year old of any gender is not capable of truly, intelligently consenting to what kind of hair cut they should have much less something as physically impacting as sex, much less sex with a group. Now, everyone is allowed their opinion. But reporting the news is not stating your opinion. Mainstream news, what most Americans have to get their information from, is *telling* us that rapists and the town that raised them to be such are suffering because the rapists assaulted a child and that we shouldn't give a damn about the child.

Un-fucking-believable.

You think Republican politicians are the only ones trying to reduce women's rights? Democratic news reporters are trying their damnedest too.
