Whoa whoa whoa, hey, for the record? When it comes to well-paid, low-effort career opportunities offered by way of the Compendium? Lineup forms behind me, my friend.

It's an actual rule. Ask a Librarian.

I'm sorry, are you a Librarian? No, I don't think so.

Meanwhile, I'm an Assistant Librarian to the Arabics. I think I'd have a marginally better grasp on Atheneum policy than you would.

All right, fine. I'll ask.

Except that you probably shouldn't. Librarians are incredibly busy. They don't really have time to be dealing with pestering questions.

You should just ask an Assistant Librarian instead. I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have, including this one.

It may be mildly circuitous, but that's bureaucracy in action, my friend! That's the sort of thing you need to understand if you're going to be given responsibilities like this.

And hey, I can personally guarantee the accuracy of any answers provided by our friendly and competent assistant staff!

I beg your pardon, I just assumed you weren't looking for backbreaking labour with little pay.

Then again, most of you Aesopeans are farm animals, so...

You probably shouldn't be insulting the Aesopeans to their Assistant Librarian.

WHAT!?!?

I beg your pardon?

Dude, you can read. I'm the Assistant Librarian.

WHY WOULD THEY MAKE YOU AN ASSISTANT AND NOT ME?

Well, congratulations. Welcome to the fold. It's about time, really - the Aesopeans are a mess, they really could use some extra help. I can tell you it's not going to be all fun and games, though. It's a pretty demanding position! There's a lot of liaising with the community and dealing with threats. It's not light work.

Plus, there's the Librarian massages. For me it's a bit of a perk, but for you? Well, good luck.

Thanks a lot, Varletti. I take pride in my ability to liaise and deal with threats, so I don't think I'll have too much trouble. Looks like we're co-workers now, doesn't it!

I comfortable enough with my sexuality to give Noah massages if that's what the job requires!
