Seperate Ways indeed
So Evan sent me this old Journey video in which they were talking about broken hearts while airguitaring with boxcars and warehouses. I remember seeing it on some top 40 worst videos ever list or whatever. And we were talking about how hilarious it was that people used to dressed like that, have their hair like that,....etc. Then I switched on MTV2 (Yay SC cable has MTV2.) and to the new Lostprophets video. and i was like TOUCHE WORLD TOUCHE. Remember a few years ago when the Lost Prophets were going for that cleancut Linkin Park/Glassjaw/Trapt/Default/Tantric/Fuel look while talking to us about last train homes and summers. You know short hair. plain tshirt poppy transitional numetal/alt rock. Well lets just say they arent going for that look anymore. I thought i was looking at the new AFI video or some Greeley Estates/Sugarcult/Armor For Sleep hybrid.
this transformation is almost as shocking as when Papa Roach went from cutting lives into pieces as last resorts with broken homes and into tearing my heart open cause of their weakness of caring too much. something like that. TOUCHE WORLD.
I can so see in 10 years people having the same convo watching these videos on whatever the current YouTube media platform they have and going WTF and then turning on their TV and shaking their heads and whatever is on. Maybe Lostprophets again.
