Snow day!

Dec 01, 2010 09:30

First of December, and first real snow day of the season! Best of all, I was stuck at home and still felt enough like a kid to be happy about it. The only thing is that we had to clear up the driveway twice today, because it snowed so much.

Everything should be back to normal tomorrow (sighh)…

In other news, I went to see Deathly Hallows this week end!

The movie was pretty good, the beginning especially. It slowed down in the woods, and the film never really got its pace back after that.

I am not a Hermione/Ron shipper, but boy did Emma and Rupert make me want to! I think this was the first time I could actually see them together as a functioning couple.

Also, Emma's acting really impressed me here. The Obliviating scene with her parents was heartbreaking, and man did she nail the scene in Malfoy Manor! Compared to the book, where we're with Harry and Ron and only hear her, it was so much more moving to actually see the thing happening.

Loved the scene when Draco doesn't give Harry away, you could see Harry pleading and I love how ambiguous it is about Draco's intentions.

On the other hand, I was a little disappointed with the wand grabbing scene. I had always imagined Harry wrenching the wands from Draco's hands before he had time to react, but here, they actually fight for it. Isn't Draco a wizard? Instead of trying to hold on to the wands, couldn't he have just hexed Harry?

All in all, I liked the movie, but the middle part kind of kept me from completely enjoying it.

And now, because I can't resist, a few pictures of the weather today around my house:

This was the view walking down to the bus stop-before I discovered that there were no buses because of the weather.

And a little later in the morning, a view of our garden.

I don't know if anyone else is caught in the snow (people living in the UK, I'd guess), but I hope you're all doing fine.

PS: I'm no good at finding a way to make the pictures smaller. I hope it doesn't bother you too much…
