Carpal tunnel toll booth

My hands and I are not getting along very well right now.

The left hand is very achy along the scar, and the muscles leading up to the pinky finger feel extremely overused - that strange, lactic acid build-up feeling. I've been suggesting to it that it cease and desist such things, and it says "I don't think so."

The right hand, well, the entire thumb region hurts. I have very minimal grip strength, and the muscles in my forearm feel constantly exhausted. I respectfully ask it to do me a favour and at least be slightly functional, and my hand says says "Whatever."

I am getting bored, people. And rather frustrated at times. There isn't much to do without using one's hands.

I've spent the last week staring at the baby yarn for Riel's snazzy sweater coat, while listening to my hands laugh derisively at me. They mock me, I swear!

Holding pens or pencils is still rather not fun, so no crossword puzzles for me. Sigh.

By the time I finish this post, my hands will be actively hating me. Computer work is going to be very limited for a while, yet. No minesweeper for another month probably, and very limited access to mahjongg and solitaire. This sucks.

So, I'm going to try to do a bit of sewing today. I hunted out some appropriate fabric from the stash last night - no, the hands didn't like that at all. That was the first time ever that I found riffling through fabric to be unpleasant. That bummed me out a bit, but also spurred me forward with my plan to actually accomplish something for a change.

The fabric is already washed. Time to go take some drugs and see what happens.
