OK. Bring it on, brother Raven

So, the subject line of this post is an open invitation. I know that. I've been vainly trying to keep my feet on the ground as I am buffeted by, well, chaos. At this point, I really think I'm ready to just jump off the cliff and see where these wings will take me ( Read more... )

pure unadulterated fear, careers, the flagstone path, boozymatic action

Raven says, "Just how hard do I have to push you to get you to fall out of this nest and spread your wings?"

"And I suppose I'm just going to have to keep pelting you with pinecones until you get the message! Humans can be so thick sometimes! Raawrk!" ("Raawrk!" is Raven for an obscenity best left untranslated...)

Gotta keep those guys on their toes - or at least make sure they practice regularly - otherwise they'd get pretty bored.

Thanks. I made Holly a few years ago. Fully-jointed legs and wings, and wired backbone so he can pose as he wishes. Took me about 80 hours to make him. I got the pattern here. My plan is to (eventually) make a set of them - one for each element.

ooh, i love that website! maybe i'll even be able to afford to buy a pattern - i know i could sew those designs ;-)

and now i know why all the fabric dragons i see at RenFaires look so similar - they're all using her patterns ;-)

(she's wrong about one thing, though; the word "typhoon" has nothing to do with the dragon Typhon. instead, it comes from the Chinese tai fung, which simply means "great wind".)
