Rocked up for an endoscopy this afternoon, after some hassles (see Fran's post #1), but then ended up with a diagnostic test (which confirmed the achelasia) and then some treatment (balloon dilation). I got zonked out for the latter, which meant I was pretty unaware of what all went on, and didn't lose my rag when told the procedure had been a complete success with the slight exception of me losing my crowned front tooth. The trip to the dentist that is going to be needed is made rather more bearable by the fact that pretty much all the problems appear to be gone. Early days yet, and one meal isn't a lot to go on, but fingers crossed.

Still a bit groggy so off to bed for me. More to follow in due course.
