Jane was thinking it was rather convenient that the pause between her father's trip to South America seemed to fit in nicely with this visitors weekend; almost a little too convenient, but it was quite nice to see him again and chat with him about all the fascinating things about the island.
Of course, the only problem with telling her father about all these things was that it made Professor Archimedes Q. Porter quite antsy to go out and see these things. "Daddy, please," Jane sighed with exasperation as the professor went poking about her bookshelves again. "Sit down and just relax! I promise we'll go out and explore for a bit later."
"I don't see how you can just sit here at your desk with those fascinating teal deer out there, my dear."
"Daddy, I know, but I have to be here in case any of the parents wish to speak with me about my students. I would be quite interested to meet them, Daddy; they're an incredible bunch of students, and I even had Mr. Nahasapeemapetilon to cover for me at the shop for most of the day. You simply must see the panda there, though; he's absolutely fascinating, and--"
Jane was likely to babble on to her father, and Professor Porter was just as likely to babble back, so any interruptions would probably be best for the both of them.
