Jane was absolutely not sleeping at her desk today. She was not even, she'd maintain, drifting off on occasion to wake with a little bit of a start and an attempt to focus back on her work before it happened all over again. Really. She was, of course, just resting her eyes.
Listen, she couldn't help the fact that that The Encyclopedia of Human Evolution was so bloody interesting that she couldn't put it down at all last night and didn't go to bed until a truly unsavoury hour...
In a moment of not resting her eyes, Jane yawned, stretching her arms over her head and wiggling a little in her seat. "Alright, then, Porter," she said to herself, "time to focus. Time to get to work and focus and..."
Her pep talk was interrupted by yet another yawn, and she slumped a little over her desk. "I have got to stop reading before bedtime..."
