My mum's a nurse. She looks after babies, sick ones, that is, but babies never the less. And so it is, she witnesses trends in names. She's been doing this job for 30-odd years, so she's heard a lot in her time.

I think perhaps the best she's reported on recently is the Taylor/Taylah/Tayler boy or girl phenomenon. Or the Cody/Coby/Kodie/Koby boy or girl phenomenon.

It kind of scares me... i'm 21, and okay 20 years is a long time, but how did things get so bad all of a sudden!? And then there's the fact that even people just 5 year my junior have freaky names.

I drove to Sydney tonight, and stopped at Lithgow maccas for a toilet break and to get some nuggets for the journey home. While waiting in line, i noticed the helpful assistants were Teneel and Raquel. It felt almost like a scene out of a jerry springer sketch.

And then as i got back in my car i noticed the bumper sticker on the car next to me:

"I wasn't born a bitch. Men like me that way."

ahhh scary.....
