So here's a fascinating post on cooking...

Sometimes I wonder why I want to write about these things! Anyway, I was reading on a few other of my friends blogs what they do for dinner etc.

And because this year was the first year i've ever had to cook just for me, it kind of made me wonder if how i do it is weird.

Back in Leichhardt when there were five of us we would each cook a meal one night of the week and washup one night of the week. We also shopped communaly and had a budget of $30 a head. It was reallllllly awesome. We ate like kings and didn't feel exhausted from cooking/cleaning all the time.

Now i live by myself i really miss it. Man, it sucks cooking for one! I usually go shopping on Saturday and over the weekend cook two or three big bulk lots of meals to keep in the freezer for lunch and dinner. The last couple of weeks i've been doing stuff I photocopied out of merilyn's donna hay book, this awesome chicken, tomato and basil spaghetti, hoem made basiil and boccocini pizza, spag bol, stir fries and other random stuff. It's mostly uninspiring, but i try to put in a few veges and not use too much pre-prepared/preservative stuff.

I get home from work about 7pm which makes it kind of hard to feel liek cooking, hence the freezing everything system. It has been working, and i usually have enough lying around to have variety. But like tonight I was sick of all teh aforementioned food and so dropped in on the supermarket and made chicken with pesto and veges. Was good to eat soemthing from the stove!

there are lots of  thigns i miss about sharehousing - particularly the food aspect.... so cheap and good! Now, i gotsta get me a housemate..
