Impressive weapon, there. [ Says the enormously armored space marine, who is leaning on his combat bike which he'd just driven up to the park. ]

This? Its just your standard energy blaster from the 23rd century. Kinda quaint tech where I come from but still, effective with everything else.

Nevertheless, [ Garviel removes his helm. ]

We don't use such advanced digital weapons in the Age of the Imperium.

Eh, energy weapons are easier to deal with than slug throwers. That and its easier to tone down the juice and just make it hurt instead of kill.

The Astartes are the final sanction, so we have little use for weapons that do not kill. We have other branches for dealing with... criminals.

Erm... Yeah. Are you sure that that's a good thing to be proud of? I mean sure giant 12 headed space monsters that want to swallow your soul need to get blasted but is that what you guys are held back for? Do you even HAVE those things?

I am neither proud nor ashamed of my work. It is simply what it is, war. The moral questions have already been resolved by the time my brothers and I have been committed to the field.

Or that is how things should be, anyway.

Yeah, but um, what if one of you guys goes too far? I mean if you never think about what you are doing you can loose sight of why you do it and things can go very very wrong.

Then the galaxy will burn.

And so it did.

But as for considering what we did, that was my role as Mournival. I... failed. I failed my father, I failed the Emperor, I failed my brothers. I couldn't turn the Warmaster back from the course of action which caused a galactic civil war, even though Torgaddon and myself knew it was wrong. We waited too long.

...Sounds like Max. Still have to find him and break every bone in his face.

Who was max? And why do you have to beat him so badly?

Max... He was the guy in charge long ago, the brains behind one of the most prestigious super hero groups in the world. Handled a lot of the recruitment and the logistics. But he well, he went nuts when something caused him to develop his own powers. Turned on us, tried to get us to kill each other so he could take over himself. Had all the big names so turned around that they were chasing shadows and each other. Then again, given the egos that wasn't so hard.

My best friend found him out, went to everyone for help, I was the only one who did. I ended up in the hospital for a month... Ted got a bullet in the face for his troubles. Finally someone snapped his neck but some sick twist of fate has him up and running around again back home with this major brain thinger that has everyone forgetting who he was so he can operate in silence again.

I just gotta get my hands on him and break every bone in his face.

I see... So not dissimilar to the situation that befell Tarik and myself.

I am sorry. [ He will reach out to put his hand on Booster's shoulder in a brotherly pat, no condescension in the action, only empathy. ]

Yeah well.. The second I get home I've got enough of a plan to figure out where he is and bring the whole organization down around his ankles. Then kick his butt when his pants are down.

I wish you the best of luck with that. But if he has done all that you claimed, why not slay him outright for his traitorous behavior?

Because he already got killed, had his head popped right off and some jackass brought him back to life. I want to keep him locked up and in a lot of pain so that doesn't happen again.
