Howard blinks sleepily. His recollections of the previous night are hazy. Alcohol had been involved, he remembers. Possibly a card game or two. Other things start to come back to him, the sticky taste of lipgloss mixed with those awful neon cocktails Vince drinks. Fingers fluttering against his cheek, quickened breaths, a tongue sliding against his, sweet and achingly familiar.
"Mornin'" Vince comes in, shielding his eyes from the light. "Aw, I've got a blinder, can't remember a thing."
"Me neither," Howard lies, as always. He stirs his tea and dreams of a day when they'll be allowed to remember.
