So, after the show was over me and the girl I met decided to go to the stage door. There were lots of people there waiting for Ewan McGregor even though the signs said that the stars wouldn't be coming out to sign autographs. The whole group waited for a long time. Some people were chatting to Thompson (the bodygaurd) and asking him questions. Some of the other actors came out of the stage door and people were cheering them on. The other male lead (the one who played Nathan Detroit) came out and people were taking pictures with him. Then I noticed that Thompson had grabbed my stuff and was speaking into the gate to let him in. And then when Thomspon went in, I heard a motorbike start up and I was like "Oh damn, its him". Nobody really believed me though I guess. After awhile Thompson came back and he gave me the thumbs up. Then a guy came around the corner and shouted "There is nothing to see, Ewan McGregor has already left!" I was a bit dissapointed because I knew where the exit was and I thought I should've been standing there. But I was really happy when Thomspon handed me the signed flyer and the permanent marker that Ewan touched (I am keeping both). The only problem was I had to return to London to pick up the cash for the ticket I sold. I decided that I would come again on Friday (the day of Ewan's last performance) and do some sightseeing while I was there. So I made a day of it. I saw Buckingham Palace, St. James's Park, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, London Bridge, Tower of London, Tower Bridge (went inside that for about £5.50 but it was pretty boring), and King's Cross Station to visit platform 9 3/4. Then it was around 4.00 and I headed back to Piccadilly Circus to get the money for my tickets. I picked up the money and then decided to eat at a Thai Restaurant that I noticed last time I was there because I hadn't eaten pad thai for a long time. The restaurant did not open until 6.00 however. I remembered that Thomspon said Ewan came at 5.30 every day so I thought, what the hell, I will wait around to see if he shows up. So I went back to the right spot this time (where he rides in and leaves on his motorbike). There were a bunch of Germans and some Asian people as well. Some girl was showing her friends a picture she took of Ewan and I could tell that it was taken right where we were standing. 5.30 came and went but I had nothing to do, so I still stood there. And then finally at about 5.45, Ewan pulled up on his motorbike. It was so surreal. He parked it outside, took out the keys and walked to the gate. This gave me plenty of time to get a pic of him on the motorbike and stare at him. And then some lady tried to hand him a present and he spoke! He said "Can you leave that for me at the stage door because I can't carry it on my bike." Ah, to hear him speak, it was great. And then we all watched him pull in his motorbike and then turn it around. I wasn't sure if he was going to come back out to see us. But sure enough he did! So he came out and signed a bunch of autographs. I didn't really know what to do so I stuck out my hand and said "Last time I was here you gave me an autograph and I just wanted to say thank you" and he took my hand in a firm handshake. Ah, I kept taking more pictures and I didn't want him to leave but I could tell he was in a hurry. More people kept coming and he kept signing autographs. We all wished him good luck on his last day. It went by way too fast though, but he was so cute and I got to stare at him up close. He he. But all I was expecting was a mere glimpse of him coming in on his motorbike and I got to actually meet him. So, all in all it was a very very good day :).
