Star Trek was everything I had hoped it would be and more. Every role was perfectly cast, especially Spock. WOW.

The Dark Knight reminds me of movies that came from what I consider the real golden age of Hollywood: the 1970s. It's the pacing, the look (and by that, I mean the way shots are framed as well as some of the sets and the art direction), and the story that put me in mind of that era. The Fall Movie Preview issue of Entertainment Weekly (on newsstands now) reports that Anton Corbijn's biopic of Ian Curtis will be in limited release in the United States starting on October 10, 2007.

I know where I'm going to be on or near that date (allowing for what "limited release" will mean for my area).

The Oscar geek blogs are infested with some of the loudest moaning that I've ever heard because Crash took Best Picture. I mean, I've been an Oscar geek for a long time myself, and this tops every outrage I've heard.
