I don't think I stole this idea from anyone, I can't think of where I might have gotten it from, but it seems like it would be very common. What about a mix-cd of just songs whose titles are girl's names? My musical knowledge-base is rather limited but here are a few that I know/have:
Julia - the Beatles
Michelle - the Beatles
Veronica - Elvis Costello
Alison - Elvis Costello
Janine - Soul Coughing
Valerie - Reel Big Fish
Kate - Ben Folds
Ana Ng - They Might Be Giants
Louise - NOFX
Lori Meyers - NOFX
Carlita - Goldfinger
Mabel - Goldfinger
Sadie May - Mustard Plug
Lolita - Mustard Plug
Last names are frowned upon, additional words are a no-go (e.g. "Losing Lisa," "Carrying Cathy"), and only names themselves (no words that refer to the girl, just the name itself). Lay some on me!
