Last Thursday, I had to work late. When I was going outside to ask my boss something while he was having a cigarette, in the middle of talking to him I saw this dead bird on the ground on the little ramp up to the office door. I looked a little closer and it looked like a hummingbird! I had never seen a dead hummingbird before, and I thought it was particularly tragic (although of course it shouldn't be).
I left at 7 or so, and a 15 feet into the street outside of our building there was a dead goose on the side of the road. I can't ever remember seeing a goose as roadkill either. Also, the last two dead animals I've seen and they are both birds, when that is so rare (comparatively to racoons, etc.)?
It's obviously an omen that I should never work late again, ever.
