77th Draw is an attempt to alleviate boredom [Voice/Action]

[It had taken a fair bit of convincing but in the end, Selphie had found herself seated on a high stool in front of the computer for the Battle Dome busily programming in something that would help her get back on her feet. An X-Potion had taken care of the worst of her injuries but it still left her ankle in a state where she couldn't put a lot ( Read more... )

bored to tears, spread a little cheer in the bubble, hurtin' unit, still cheerful, incommunicado no more, sunshine lollipops and rainbows, ow ow ow, piles of cheer, bother bother bother, stuck in bed

'...Seems like I haven't read that guide thoroughly enough, because what?'

Thought I was settling in a little before I heard that. There's a virtual reality room...?

Kinda! There's a lot of people in the village who are very skilled fighters so it's mainly used for training. But some recreational programs never hurt anybody.

You must be new then. Welcome to Luceti.

Remind me to stay away from those people.

'I imagine some recreational programs have hurt people before. But anyway.'

--Thanks. Yeah, I got here about a week ago.

That won't do at all! Just because we know how to fight doesn't mean that we're not friendly either.

I'm Selphie by the way. Are you settling in okay?

'True, I suppose there's the example of Nagato. Well, friendly wouldn't be the--Why am I thinking this anyway?'

Nice to meet you, Selphie. [He says rather formally, then gives his own name as well.] Also sometimes known as Kyon. 'Unfortunately.'

And I guess I'm just a little wary of people who can rip my head off.

[voice] - sorry I don't know the Haruhi canon at all but is Kyon a brooder? boomchucka November 21 2011, 16:00:27 UTC
Which would you prefer to be addressed by? Whatever makes you most comfortable is what I'll go by.

...That makes sense. Well, if it helps there are people who fight who definitely won't rip your head off though.

[voice] he's rather snarky and a bit antisocial, but not too much brooding, I'd say. fffffacepalm November 21 2011, 16:03:07 UTC
'You know, if there's one thing welcome about this place, it's people who have been using my real name.'

I generally prefer to avoid being called Kyon when I can, which is almost never.

[He pauses to think about the latter one.] I'm hoping you're one of them.

[voice] ah, good to know. Thanks! boomchucka November 22 2011, 03:54:00 UTC
If that's what you prefer, then that's how I'll address you.

[voice] Sure! fffffacepalm November 22 2011, 04:03:56 UTC
Well, thanks. Kind of you. Not too many people bother with that, funnily enough.

Everybody has nicknames but it's really about making people comfortable here. Getting used to Luceti can be challenging sometimes.

Hmm. Well, aside from the alleged horrible stuff that happens, I'm sure it is very comfortable.

'Maybe a little snarkier than I intended.'

Ah, I'm sure you do your best, and that we all appreciate your kindness.

You must be talking about the experiments. They can get a little... wonky I guess and a lot of people tend to complain about them but well... yeah, they do suck. I can't put a positive spin on that one, sorry.

I try my best.

...It's nice of you to try, anyway. Not everything needs a positive spin, I guess.

That might be true but a little silver lining does make things easier to deal with.

In that case, perhaps the silver lining for me is that I haven't yet been experimented on.

And we usually get experments near the end of the month so I hate to be the bearer of bad news but unless you're really lucky, you might be getting experimented on by the end of the month.
