:( So I'm officially giving up on True Blood. I was going to stick around to see how the S4 Eric storyline turned out but nope. After Jason's implied gang bang by the women of hot shot, I'm out.
Gang rape is never okay. Rape is never okay. It's STILL NOT OKAY when it's a dude. And it is the opposite of okay when it's a 'hot' sweaty vulnerable dude, because that's just taking the same tired fucked up sexy-vulnerable-girl-gets-raped-and-its-awful-but-also-titillating trope and flipping genders.
If Ball is trying to make some meta statement about how a female audience is willing to watch male rape but not vice versa, or how we're all complicit in sexual violence on some level by watching the show (something Whedon kept going for with Dollhouse and it didn't work for me there either), it's not working and it's not worth it.

<3 Summer TV is not a total bust: I am still TOTALLY IN LOVE with Eureka, Warehouse 13, Leverage and SYTYCD. I am also totally digging the new syfy series Alphas so far.
