Mom... Every Kid's Loudest Cheerleader

May 11, 2006 20:45

I was talking to my mom tonight because I knew she'd need a little cheering up after my aunt left.  One thing we discussed was my upcoming community theater audition:

Me:  Next weekend I'm going to an audition workshop for an upcoming community theater musical.  Auditions are the following Tuesday and Wednesday.

Mom:  You're going to SING?

Me: Yeah.  I'm gonna go to... WAITAMINIT!  Did you just ask me if I was going to sing?  Why does everyone keep asking me that?  Like it's SO unbelievable.

Mom: I did NOT say that.

Me:  I know I didn't make that up.  You did TOO.  You don't think I can do it.

Mom:  I DID NOT say that.

Me:  Then what DID you say?

Mom:  mumblemumble NOT THAT.  I just meant 'You're going to sing... in front of people?'.

Obviously, she's not her well-spoken self today.  Or she's looking out for the welfare of the greater FinTown area.  But, I will not be deterred.
