I'm Tired & the Upstairs Neighbors Are Being Loud

Mar 12, 2006 10:15

We haven't had upstairs neighbors for awhile and I'm not used to the sound of thundering footsteps above my head. I'm guessing the child's bedroom is directly above our library/computer room aka 2nd bedroom. Its not so much the running footsteps as the ones when they are jumping off the furniture. At least it sounds that way. Yes, I'm being cranky.

Conference calls to start the week and long hours make Jody cranky. I think its going to be the open to close shifts that will do me in. I have already put everyone on notice that come late April/early May I am taking vacation. If my assistant can take two weeks in the summer to go to Bosnia then I can manage at least a week to lounge about. ;) Besides all my people will be back & available *fingers crossed*.

This week the new (at least to me) Regional Director is visiting. My boss
described her as a cross between two of my favorite RDs, making sure that things are done as directed but also being very approachable. If this is true then this could be a very good thing. I will continue to hope so until proven otherwise. The store is in fairly good shape but small amounts of tweaking displays and dusting will make it better.

I'm thinking that since we got Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire yesterday that I should be watching it. Jim is sleeping still (with Sammy curled up beside him) so I should probably wait for him to wake up.
Had my breakfast (scones and chai) but another cup of chai sounds good. I have a couple of new books to read, The Old Wine Shades by Martha Grimes and an advance reader copy of The Last Cato by Matilde Asensi. The last somewhat in the vein of Da Vinci but seems to be written better and deals with a secret organization & the True Cross. Guess I'll find out if my early opinion holds up on the writing.
