On my recent trip to CT, my sister and mother wanted to track down the flat marker that indicated the spot where my step-grandmother was buried with her first husband.  Unlike in northern Maine, where there are many headstones with the name Flewelling carved into marble, this small quiet CT cemetery has one marker with this name.  It seems that ( Read more... )

There are those times in which the wait for the answer leaves me wondering which direction life will go in.  A followup mammogram is done and the radiologist says things appear benign and we'll keep an eye on the area.  Come back in six months.  It feels as though I am stepping off a path that I was never truly on.

They were married for decades.  They shared many joys and more than their share of pain.

He visited his sister - my mother - this week.  He was returning a stair lift that was no longer needed.  She is gone - no longer suffering.  He suffers a different kind of pain - missing her. Although she may be physically gone but it is obvious she is still ( Read more... )

This past weekend marked yet another shift in our family.  We added another member in that daughter Kerry was married to Stephen. Due to their job situation, their life together will be delayed a bit longer.  Hopefully, this will not be a long wait.
