No, not moderated posting--that's frustrating. But moderated membership would be a great compromise! (TQC does moderated membership, and we have not been hit with spam at all.)

Even if you, personally, delete the spam quite quickly, it's still very frustrating to see your friends page filled with spam, and unfortunately, in some of the communities that I belong to, the mods are never around. So one less spam-filled community is great!

You should use captchas (?)in this community. I've seen it on someone's journal. It must be an option on LJ.

bah, it's not your fault there is spam, and it shouldn't be your responsibility to be instantly on it! i think we can manage without moderation.

Several of my other communities had to switch to moderated posting, so I really wouldn't mind overmuch. Sadly, this spam is really getting out of hand.

Switch to moderated posting, even if it's just for a couple of weeks until LJ gets this latest wave of spam under control.
