Mod-Post 2011
Ok kids, time for a mod-post.
Spam happens, spam happens to any LJ community that decides that their members are grown up enough to not require to be babysat to the point that no entry can be posted without the blessing of the pope / mod. Very few times in this communities history have I needed to do this (aka 2005 when I went on vacation for 2 weeks and every possible spammer and drama-starter seemed to love the community.
Do I really need to bring back moderated posting? Tell me your opinion. No one wants to see porn spam (porn on its own sure, if you purposely went to a porn-tastic website --- but not when you're in a bookish mood)
Here is a suggestion, when you do see spam, don't just badmouth me. My dearest apologies: when the last spam was posted, I was asleep - then I had breakfast, and then I took my dog for a 25 minute walk --- DURING that walk I got an e-mail from a member alerting me of the russian spam. I then found the spam and removed it. I have a life, I work 40 hours a week, then I work out, go to yoga, walk my dog and do other things - so I do not have time to get to spam within 5 seconds of it being posted. I am sorry if you think this means I have failed you and Booktards.
