My first one and absolute favorite has entirely anime based reasons, which is my excuse for why it's not one of Shindou and Touya's matches. In episode 62, where Hikaru's gone on his journey to find Sai and plays against Shuuhei, the amateur champion, I have been absolutely in love with this match since the first time I saw it. The entire atmosphere of the match, the music that plays during it, the way Shindou suddenly grows before our eyes, how the go stones fly off his fingers and how, for just a moment he forgets about his desperation to get back to Tokyo to find Sai and just loses himself in entering a deeper level within the game. It's really one of the most breathtaking and aggressive and captivating matches he ever plays, and it breaks my heart when he looks up at the end expecting Sai to be there ;__

This Isn't the Freaking Heian Era and the sequel, Claiming Territory by mousapelli, if only because "I've been trying to tell you with my Joseki" and "...he has clearly broken Shindou's heart" rank among the most unforgettable lines across all fandoms for me.
Love In an Elevator by Tsaiko. This fic, haha. It's so obvious how easy I am with this list, I think, but I just feel like this fic IS SO BELIEVABLE AND COULD TOTALLY HAPPEN. it's just so them. it makes me happy every time i re-read it.
Okay, I don't like to rec WIPS and i NEVER rec AUs (unless they're tezuryo, lol huge huge exception), but i swear to god, murinae's AU WIP might just be the 5th one.

Also, that would be the hottest threesome in, like, the entire universe ever. I think it would take a lot of convincing to stop Shindou from setting about Ko Yongha with a baseball bat the first time he leered at Touya, though.
There is a whole lot of Shindou seething with jealousy in this fic I'm writing, but I don't think you'd like it - it ends up in a Touya/Shindou/Ogata threesome, though in the service of Touya/Shindou tru luv 4evaomg because even Ogata is like "OH MY GOD YOU ARE SO MARRIED ACKNOWLEDGE IT OR I WILL BEAT YOU BOTH LIKE RED-HEADED KOREAN GO-MONSTER STEPCHILDREN."

Actually I think #5 is a tie between Kishimoto and Le Ping. Le Ping is made of awesome and tried to stow away in that other guy's luggage so he could come to Japan to see Isumi.
