Flowers and Go by arboretum. I think Eddy writes Hikaru better than anybody else in the fandom.
This Isn't the Freaking Heian Era and the sequel, Claiming Territory by mousapelli, if only because "I've been trying to tell you with my Joseki" and "...he has clearly broken Shindou's heart" rank among the most unforgettable lines across all fandoms for me.
Love In an Elevator by Tsaiko. This fic, haha. It's so obvious how easy I am with this list, I think, but I just feel like this fic IS SO BELIEVABLE AND COULD TOTALLY HAPPEN. it's just so them. it makes me happy every time i re-read it.
Okay, I don't like to rec WIPS and i NEVER rec AUs (unless they're tezuryo, lol huge huge exception), but i swear to god, murinae's AU WIP might just be the 5th one.
Um. Runner-up (YOU DID IT, SO CAN I) goes to harukami's The Sordid Truth. because, i mean. COME ON, THERE'S BASICALLY NOTHING IN THE WORLD GREATER THAN TOUYA'S LAST LINE IN THAT FIC. god. asdfkladsj;lsa.

1. OH WAYA. GOD. CAN "HIS BEAUTIFUL HAIR" BE AT THE TOP OF THE LIST. WOULD THAT MAKE ME EXTREMELY SHALLOW. BECAUSE I HONESTLY DON'T REALLY CARE, WAYAAAAAAAAAA HAIIIIIR.
2. his perceptiveness. he notices everything, he's like Bergita in the Von Trapp Family Go Special.
3. his dynamic with Hikaru, oh, oh. Specifically, the way he enjoys Hikaru so much, and supports him so much, all while consciously suppressing his very real jealousy and envy of him, and what I think is a whole lot of insecurity associated with Hikaru's quick rise and Touya's fixation on him. I love the way Waya loves his friends, but especially the way he loves Hikaru.
4. His Fanboyishness. Specifically, the way Waya fanboys Isumi so much, feels always slightly awkward around him and not quite as comfortable with him as he wants to be, but never actually realizes that he constantly pushes and encourages Isumi to play his best go, because he's got stars in his eyes wherever Isumi is concerned.
5. The way Waya figured out HALFWAY THROUGH THE SERIES that Sai was Hikaru's mentor and teacher. SHINDOU, YOU IDIOT, IF THAT'S NOT FINDING SAI, WHAT IS. asldkjf;asd;.
HONORABLE MENTION #6: THE WAY HE IS GOING AFTER WHAT HE WANTS IN THAT PICTURE DOWN THERE AHHHHHH.
