Barnes & Noble
2) What is your position there?
Bookseller.
3) What are some of the duties you're responsible for performing?
Everything. B & N makes everyone know everyone elese job (i.e. working in music, the cafe, the cashwrap, children's, receiving, etc). So basically, you work your ass off.
4) How much money do you make? (If you'd rather not say, just say minimum wage, slightly above minimum wage, or well above minimum wage)
$7.50/hr plus raises when it's review time
5) Have you ever worked a non-retail job? How did it compare to retail in terms of pay, flexibility of hours, and opportunity for growth?
Yes. I have worked at an academic library; a resort & conference center; a greenhouse; public schools; Connecting Point; professional tutor (both at a college and on the side); another retail discount store.
The only flexibility was in school internships.
*SIDENOTE* the social work stuff was for an internship so i didn't get paid

9) What are some of the accomplishments you wish you could brag about to customers/bosses when they treat you like a moron? (educational, professional, personal, etc.)?
I have an A.A. in Social Work; I have an A.A. in Early Childhood Social Work; I am in my last year for my B.A. in Social Work; I am in my last few months of my Medical Transcription degree; I wrote procedure manuals for a past job; I graduated with honors; I tutor on a part-time basis (for dumb-ass people like the ones that come into the store); I have written poetry and been published; I AM OUTTA THERE AS SOON AS I AM DONE WITH SCHOOL OR A SW POSITION OPENS UP
