Hello. My name is "Meredith", and I work at Coles, The Book People; owned by Indigo Books Music and More Inc. Although, my parents (who started reading to me when I was a baby) gave me the gift of reading...customers are slowly but surely sucking all the joy out of my job...very sad considering customer service is my main responsibility...HO is too but that is another story...
1. people who stand in line b/c they think I work at the info desk in the mall too...
2. people who say thirty per cent off bestsellers is not "...a good deal." (My employee discount is thirty per cent off...now please leave the store...)
3. people who come in for change
4. people who come in with books bought a year ago or sometimes longer and still expect their money back
5. people who drop their books while demanding why I won't accept it for return
6. people who assume final sale items are also on sale
7. people asking if the store sells alcohol, playing cards (at one time unfortunately we did), water (unfortunately now we do), file folders, etc.
8. people who do not listen when you speak to them
9. people who crack the spine of book while reading the book in the store (and then leave w/o buying said book) and then wonder why I am asking every half an hour or so if they would like help finding anything...we are not a library...
10. people/children who steal...
11. parents who believe the store is also a day care centre
hello,
chain,
frustrating customers
