Caldecott, King, Newbery and Printz! Announced tomorrow!
Get your bets in now (unless I'm posting this too late and all y'all have already tucked yourselves into your warm beds for the night, or, possibly, have better things to do than hang around speculating on the shiny shiny new medals soon to adorn certain books in our children's section.).
To be honest, the only bit I've got any sort of calculated guess on would be the Newbery and maybe the Printz, and for that it's more of a hoping than an educated statement. I would love, love, love the Drowned Maiden's Hair to win something, even if it's just an Newbery Honor, and I have high hopes for Octavian Nothing or the Book Thief as far as the Printz goes. This is my first year actually on the children's floor, though, so I could be horribly terribly and no goodly wrong.
Any comments from the peanut gallery and beyond?
Of course, of course, no matter what wins, we'll be sold out of in roughly five seconds flat, and then be flooded with calls asking if we just happen to have any first edition, first printings loitering around.
