Giles watched as his wife fell asleep before settling down and falling asleep himself. When he awoke again, it was morning and Molly was poking him with her nose. He glanced over and noticed Fred was still sleeping. "Come on, Molly," he said, picking up the squirming puppy. They left the room and went down to the kitchen, where Lorne was, looking out the back door ( ... )

When Fred woke up, she realized that she alone in the bed. She hadn't even awakened when her husband had got up from bed - the jet lag must have hit her harder than she had thought, especially after the weekend they had experienced ( ... )

"Morning, love," Giles said when Fred appeared in the kitchen. He returned her kiss and turned back to the paper as she poured her tea and sat down beside him. "Nothing of much interest. The PM mucking things up again but that's quite typical of him." Giles folded up the paper and glanced at the kitchen clock ( ... )

Fred smiled up at Rupert before he headed out of the kitchen before turning to look over at Lorne. "You're looking a lot better this morning," she told him. "How's the arm ( ... )

Giles stood from the table and nodded at his wife's question. They needed to leave, especially since Fred's gift would be arriving later. Once Lorne had gotten his luggage, the three of them went out to the car. Giles drove them to the building the Slayers lived in and parked out front. He took them inside and was greeted by Andrew ( ... )

"All right, all right," she said, laughing as Lorne practically pushed him toward the door. She reached into her purse and pulled out one of her cards that she had received from work last week. "Here. My cell phone number's on there if you need to reach us for whatever reason."

"Thanks, buttercup." He took the card and tucked it in his pocket before leaning over to kiss her temple. "Now, you and your husband go and have a nice day. I have new friends to make."

"Bye, Lorne! See you later, Andrew," Fred called out before she and Rupert were sent out the door. She shook her head as she threaded her arm through her husband's on the way back to the car. "Was like they couldn't get rid of us fast enough."

Getting into the car, they headed into London to one of the shopping districts. After finding a place to park, they got out and headed into the pedestrian area where the shops were located.

"Where did we want to go first?" she asked, not sure where to start.

"The furniture shop would be a good place to start," Giles said, pointing toward it. "I was thinking about getting a bigger bedroom set since there's two of us now. That way the both of us will have room in the bureau." He squeezed her hand, a smile crossing over his face. He was shopping with his wife for things like furniture and while most men would shy away from such activities, Giles actually liked it ( ... )

Fred nodded as they walked over to the furniture store. He was right that a new set would be a very good thing to have, considering that at the moment, her clothes were sort of crammed in wherever there was room. She was glad to have a husband who was concerned about things like that ( ... )

Giles watched as his wife examined the bedroom set, glad that she liked it also. He could picture it in their new bedroom. Giles could also picture other things, like them making love on the bed, or their children playing in the wardrobe, hoping to find the magical land of Narnia. A smile crossed his face as he sat next to Fred on the bed. He pulled her against her and hugged her tightly. "I love you so bloody much," he whispered against her hair ( ... )

Fred embraced Rupert tightly as they sat on the bed. "I love you too," she said softly. She couldn't imagine being with or sharing her life with anyone else now.

Once Rupert had filled out the paperwork and paid for the set, she found herself smiling at the salesperson calling them Mr. and Mrs. Giles. It sounded so nice hearing that - it made it more real in a way even though she knew it was real every time she looked down at the rings on her finger or the one of his and every time he touched her.

Like now, when he took her hand and they walked out of the furniture shop back out into the pedestrian walk area. Pursing her lips together, she glanced around, trying to think of something that both Charlotte and Willow would like. The memory of opening the present from them the other night and finding the lingerie inside crossed her mind briefly, but she didn't think that would be very appropriate, all things considered. They looked into the shop windows as they walked along, trying to get an idea. What did you get for a lawyer ( ... )
