Lying on the bed after he took the negligee off her, Fred felt a shudder run though her when Rupert's hand ran up her sides to her breasts. The way he touched her made her want him even more.

"Oh God," she moaned when she felt him rubbing against her, teasing her a bit. She needed him so badly, wanted him inside her. Lifting her leg, she wrapped it around his hip and arched back as he slid inside her, a soft whimper escaping her lips. She wanted him to move, tried to wriggle under him, but instead, he mouthed her nipples, driving her out of her mind. "Rupert...oh, please..."

When he finally began thrusting into her, she closed her eyes, her hips raising up to meet him each time he pushed down. This was her husband, and he was making love to her, and she was his wife, and oh, god, he felt so good. Slowly, the strokes became faster. Fred was losing herself to the pleasure that was slowly building and rising deep inside her, her moans becoming more incoherent with each passing moment.

Finally, it all became too overwhelming, and with a cry, she came, trembling in his arms.

The more Giles pushed into Fred, the tighter she became. He felt his eyes flutter closed as he pressed his forehead against her shoulder. There had been a time when he imagined what it would be like to make love to his wife but that thought had been lost after he’d lost Jenny in Sunnydale. Now he was married and making love to his wife and he couldn’t be any happier.

When he felt her coming underneath him, Giles had to grab her hips so he could keep thrusting into her. With her walls squeezing him tight, he knew he wasn’t going to last much longer. “Love you, Fred,” he gasped out as he pushed into her a few more times. Giles felt himself tighten up and he pushed into her deeply, spilling himself into her.

He caught himself so he wouldn’t collapse on top of her and took a few deep breaths. “Perfect,” he whispered before nuzzling her nose. Giles didn’t want to pull out of her just yet but had no choice when his mobile started to ring.

“I have to take that, in case it’s Andrew with our flight information.” He said before rolling off of her and picking up the phone. It was indeed Andrew and after a few minutes, Giles rung off and looked to his wife. “Our flight leaves Heathrow in five hours, which means we won’t be able to enjoy the suite for much longer if you want to go back to our flat in London and pack.”

When she felt Rupert nuzzle her nose, she opened her eyes, smiling as she looked up into his, still wrapped around him. She wanted to hold him close for as long as she could, keep him pressed to her, but then the phone rang, and he had to pull away.

At least Andrew had managed to wait until they had finished, she thought as she sat up and scooted up behind her husband, resting her head against his back while they spoke. She'd definitely have to remember to thank Angel for his wonderful timing as well. When Rupert hung up and told her that their flight left in a few hours, she nodded, knowing that he was right and they needed to get going if they were going to make it.

Giving him a long kiss, she slipped off the bed and retrieved her clothes from the bathroom. Once they had both gotten dressed, Fred put the negligee back in the box and slipped it into her bag. They then grabbed all their belongings and headed back downstairs where Rupert explained to the front desk that an emergency had come up and they had to leave for London immediately.

Once they were checked out, they hurried out to the car, throwing their bags into the back, and before long they were heading down the M4 back to London. Fred watched the dark countryside pass by as they drove, a part of her nervous about the fact that she was about to once again see the friends she had left behind.

Giles still felt bad that everything had been rushed and was now being cut short. He had wanted everything to be perfect before they had to go back to work on Monday but now they were on their way to Los Angeles to deal with a problem Angel couldn’t handle himself.

Reaching over, Giles took Fred’s hand into his and smiled. “I’m only doing this because Angel said Dana, that’s the Slayer, is out of control and has injured a few people. She was in a mental institution for quite some time and was kidnapped when she was a child. Angel says he has tried to reason with her but all she wants to do is kill him,” he explained. “She doesn’t understand what she is and I don’t think Angel is the best at explaining it to her.”

The lights of London came into view and Giles slowed the car once they were inside the city limits. They still had some time to get packed and to the airport so he took his time driving to their flat. When they got there, he parked the car and looked over at his wife.

“Once this is over, we’ll spend the entire weekend locked inside our new house, breaking in every room,” he said. He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and smiled. “We should get inside and pack. Don’t want to keep Angel waiting.”

Fred nodded as Rupert explained the situation in Los Angeles. It really kind of sucked that they had to cut short their weekend, especially after everything they had done to plan for it, but given what he told her about Dana, she knew that helping her was much more important. Rupert was right that Angel wasn't the best as explanations - that had been Wesley's job.

When they reached the flat, she smiled at his promise that they would lock themselves in their new house. She liked the sound of that, having her husband all to herself while they tried out every room. "I'm planning to collect on that promise," she told him before they got out of the car and headed into the flat.

It didn't take them long to get packed. They weren't sure how long they were going to end up being out in Los Angeles, so they packed for about a week, just in case. Once they were ready, they took their suitcases out to the car and headed for Heathrow.

The sun was just coming up by the time their flight took off for Los Angeles.

Luckily for them, the flight from London to Los Angeles was non-stop. It gave Giles some time to chat with Fred about when they wanted to move into the new house and if they needed to do any sort of home improvements on it. The long flight also gave Giles the chance to nap and before they landed, he went to the airplane bathroom and washed up a bit.

When they landed, there was a car from Wolfram and Hart waiting for them. “I suddenly feel evil,” he muttered, mostly to himself, when they got into the limo. He spent the trip to the firm mostly in silence, thinking of the best way they could catch the rogue Slayer, without Angel’s help. The firm came into view and the car pulled into a parking garage and the driver lead them upstairs.

They were greeted by a young man who took them through the rest of the building. Giles couldn’t believe how many demons - demons he was trained to kill - was roaming about. He took Fred’s hand as they continued to follow the man. When they got to the boardroom, the man announced that the people from the Watcher’s Council where there.

“Giles, thanks for…” Angel started but when he saw Fred, he stopped. “Fred?” His eyes then ticked down and saw Giles and Fred’s hands linked together. “Uh…”

Giles sighed and looked at the rest of them. They all had the same shocked look Angel did. “Since Angel has forgotten his manners, let me introduce myself. I’m Rupert Giles, head of the Watcher’s Council, and I’m quite sure all of you know my wife Fred,” he said with a smile.

“Wife?” All of them asked at the same time before turning to look at Fred.

The flight was long, but Fred found that she couldn't sleep, even when Rupert managed to nap for a while. She supposed that she was just too nervous about where they were going - to the same place that she refused to go months ago, to see the people she had left behind and hadn't talked to in a while.

She was glad when they finally touched down in Los Angeles late morning local time. However, when she found that a limo had been sent for them, she found herself pausing for a moment, remembering the morning before dawn when she had watched Angel and Charles and Lorne drive away in the limo. Rupert touched her hand, and they climbed into the limo, Fred hearing his muttered remark as they did. She agreed - this felt wrong somehow, so much unlike the night she had met Rupert when they had been in the Council car getting to know one another for the first time.

She was glad to be able to hold Rupert's hand when they walked through the building, knowing that they were there to support each other, no matter what happened. Looking around, she tried to imagine having agreed to work there herself and found it difficult.

When they reached the boardroom, she found herself swallowing against the sudden knot in her throat at the sight of her friends sitting there. As each of them realized it was actually her standing there, the expressions on their faces changed - as if they couldn't believe what they were seeing, especially when Rupert introduced her as his wife.

"Yes, wife," she answered, squeezing her husband's hand. "I also serve as the science department head for the Council, so I'm here to help Rupert in that capacity with the Slayer."

"How did that happen?" Charles suddenly piped up. Fred turned her attention to him, realizing how different he looked. He was wearing a suit, and there was just...something about him, his presence that seemed so un-Charles-like.

"Which part? The marriage or the job with the Council?" she asked as Angel indicated they should sit down. Rupert pulled a chair out for her across the table from the other three, and she gave him a smile as she sank down into it before he took the seat besides her. "Willow recommended me for the job with the Council, I flew out to England and met Rupert, I got the job, and we got married, but our personal life isn't the reason we're here. We came out here because of Dana."
