I just finished Scott Sigler's Ancestor, a novel that was released via podcast and topped many of the podcasteries' hit lists for some time. The science and the conceits were quite interesting. The characterization was clumsy; I liked the security guard/romance novel author, but how am I supposed to take the Special Forces villain seriously if he's CANADIAN Special Forces? As for the writing itself...

On one hand, it's a little more competent than early Heinlein.
On the other hand, it's a little more competent than early Heinlein.

So yeah. Check it out if you like. I found this line in particular to be hiiiilarious. For some reason, it made me think of misabaconpants.

"He didn't want to hurt her, but didn't this bitch understand he was out of time?"
