FINALLY!!! i've watched episode 9
i think knowing the rain scene was going to be in this episode, and having read the manga, and knowing what was gonna happen made me into an even bigger baby watching this episode. honestly, just after the recap of the past episodes, i was already tearing. but there was just so much for me to love about this episode. so i didn't only cry over the sad moments.. but those awesome happy moments i've been wanting for so long.
really the way the episode begins is just so opposite from how it ends. i think it makes the whole overall effect of that rain scene more heartbreaking. anyways, here i go...
the episode starts off where the last left off; shigeru has left for new york, and makino and tsukasa are at the airport, sad about shigeru leaving, but happy that they'll be together now. tsukasa leaves out his hand for makino to take... and she takes it. just as their about to go walk away.. the witch shows up. gah, his mother is always getting in the way. really.. she needs to go away. she tells tsukasa to meet her in her office tomorrow.. completely ignoring that makino was there.
tsukasa reports what happens to the f3, and makino to tama. tsukasa is briefly side-tracked when he tells them how his mother discovered them holding hands. you can see how happy he is from the expression on his face. and of course, akira and sojiro tease him about being excited just over holding hands. anyways, both tsukasa and makino decide not to back down; they're going to fight! YES!!!!
tsukasa goes to confront his mother and tells her that he's serious about makino, that she's the woman for him, and that he'll go and start his own corporation with her. and of course, the witch isn't too happy about that.. but he doesn't really care. at the same time makino is at school, worried about him (aww.. i feel the love). she goes to here little stairwell and yells "do you best doumyoji!!!" and i'm LOVING IT!!! rui's there, and tells her not worry. he tells her to smile or else he can't give her up. aww, poor rui..
anyways, makino is waiting to cross the street when tsukasa drives by. oh my goodness, that look of utter happiness on his face when he sees her is so beautiful. i'm loving all these moments between them. he hops out, and she asks how everything went. he says he doesn't know, but doesn't really care. he tells her he just wants to treasure the time he has with her.
and now the happiest part of the episode... their date. oh mo... it was SOOOOOOO awesome. first, the symbolism of the green light is very brilliant. "it's all go from here!"
he's so happy and excited crossing the street. haha, it's so cute. their lunch at the restaurant is absolutely adorable. she's so excited eating.. and he's so happy watching her. and score... they talked about eating nabe together! it's so cute, she suggests both of them eating it together.. and at first he lies and says he doesn't want to. but he quickly tells her its it a lie, and says he'll do it, and they make their promise to eat together. and i'm melting from the totaly couple-ness of these two. really, mao and jun are doing a terrific job playing the couple. they were awesome when they were bantering. but when they're actually behaving like a couple, it's too adorable.
he's credit cards don't work, so makino ends up having to pay for their meal. of course tsukasa doesn't like it one bit.. and makino thinks it's funny. tsukasa ask her what they should do now, and she tells him she'll teach him a commoner's date. the green light is on again, and this time, he's chasing after her ***awww***
his mama's on the phone with shigeru's dad, and it looks like the deals off... this of course means nothing good for the couple.
ahh, the pet shop scene. haha, it was soooooooo adorable. i was laughing so hard watching tsukasa so scared of the cute little puppy. and it was so adorable. really, how could you be scared. and makino's milking this for all it's worth. it's sooooo adorable.
they're crossing the street again, and talking about what to do next (the park? or play badminton?) when they see nishida. and ahh, that witch fired nishida! not fair... he was awesome. i'm hoping for a re-appearance before the show wraps up.
they meet with the f3, and they talk about his mother's counter-attack on him. they tell him that they'll help him, and that his money situation is no prob. i love those 3... they really are true homies. meanwhile, makino will stay at yuki's house.
doumyoji goes home to find his mother waiting for him. she tells him its his last chance, and he gets mad at her for firing nishida. but she instead, tells him that the merger is off. uh-oh...
now, before i continue, i'd like to say just how awesome everyone around makino and tsukasa are. everyone's doing there best to help them out, and make sure they stay together; the f3, yuki and okami-san. ahh, i'm just loving his so much. if i were in there, i'd be a firm supporter as well =D
anyways, sojiro and akira tell makino that doumyoji's been disowned and he's staying at rui's house. let me also add, the scene with both jun and shun lying down on the bed... totally hot. =P
now, makino is very distressed at the turn of events. even doumyoji's starting to question whether he's able to really protect makino (when he's talking to rui). then he finds out that the doumyoji corporation is in big trouble. and of course, makino finds out now as well. she also finds out that it will effect yuki's family since yuki's father is in business with the doumyoji corp. now we know where this is headed...
the next day, it looks as if makino's made up her mind. when that ominous music came on just before makino goes to talk to kaede... my heart started breaking already.
bah.. how can kaede push makino into such a corner. her character really is very self-sacrificing. tsukasa's mother is really making me very angry for getting in the way again.
tsukasa decides that he has no more hesitation. he's going to be with makino and that was that. he has a cute little repetoir with rui.. and i mean totally adorable. and i have to say, rui was very oguri shun in this episode. maybe it was just me that thought that... but he really was shun was really emminating more of himself than rui.
anyways, tsukasa goes to look for makino. he calls her phone.. nothing. goes to her work.. and finds out that she's actually gone to his house. uh oh... she's there packing.. and my heart is breaking even more.
"that rain scenes coming..." that's all i could keep thinking. no matter that i read the manga, i still wasn't prepared to watch this scene. the build up to it, i think was brilliantly done. they showed everyone out in the rain.. as if they all somehow knew what was about to transpire.
and omg, the actualy scene was absolutely hard to watch. i had to pause, grab a tissue to wipe tears away so that i could see what i was watching. i was so ridiculous i tell you. i loved it. i think they totally did the scene justice. i had never sobbed (not cried) so hard watching anything ever. makino was trying so hard to be strong, and not waver.. and she was doing a damn fine job, up until tsukasa asked her whether she ever thought of him as just a man. tsukasa on the other hand, is blatantly distraught. now i'm not 100% but i could have sworn that he was crying, too. my poor otp is suffering so much. when makino walks away and meets tama.. ahh, my heart broke even more. she's calling her an idiot for having lied to tsukasa about her feelings.. and then makino walks away.. tama cries.. tsukasa is an empty shell.. and i bawl some more.
bah.. and of course kaede watched all of it. AND SHE'S SMILING!!! how the heck are you going to smile about making your own son so miserable. i totally hate kaede now. how can kaede push makino into such a corner.
makino arrives at the fishing village to see her parents. now i can't help but think that her mother senses something's up with her. the way she looks at makino after having asked her why she was there kinda gave that away. now back to tsukasa... he's at ebisu garden place with the f3, and they're trying to make him feel better. but of course, he lashes out, and sojiro calls him at idiot for letting makino get away. and the fighting commenses. *ah, heart breaks cause tsukasa's in pain and they're fighting again. although, an angry shota is sooooo hot*
back at the fishing village, makino is at the beach, remembering the date she had with tsukasa.. and finally allowing herself to cry over the pain she's feeling. and now i'm crying again, cause it's just too much. my poor girl... i want you to go back to him now!
back with tsukasa, he's walking on the street and looks to the crossing light.. and this time it's red (loving the symbolism). but more importantly... ken? wtf?! he's there! ahh, i can just feel the web of lies unraveling...
then the previews killed me cause tsukasa's forgotten makino. good grief this drama's really going to do me in one day.
anyways, totally awesome episode. i'm so very emotionally drained from having watched it. i can't wait (again) for next weeks episode. anyways, here's some caps that i took (most are from the date and rain scene)...
