COVET/Acheron: beginnings

heeee, so i didn't end up starting with COVET; i actually ended up starting w/Acheron. but i'm glad i made the decision to read the two coincidingly; the first part of Acheron is really hard to marathon read.

the books split into two major parts. the first part is all about Ash past. that first part, instead of being divided by chapters, it reads as a journals by two different people. the first is written by Ryssa, and the second Ash.

i'm only about a third through Ryssa's (Ash's sister) diary and i need to switch to COVET. the injustice of Acheron's human life is too infuriating and sad to keep reading. i think it was when he was, what, 7 or 9 years old and made into a sex-slave by your own uncle. gah, i just wanted to tear the pages out of the book. his whole family.. they're all pricks. with the exception of his sister of course. its a wonder Ash has such a hard time trusting his brother in the present. the man did absolutely nothing to help his own twin brother.

i'm really tempted to skip his past and get right back to his present, but i can't. i want to know Ash's whole story. *puttingonbravefacetocontinue*

as for COVET... well, i feel like i am really going to like the story. a fallen angel saving 7 souls from the seven deadly sins; fantastic. i have not read stories based on the 7 deadly sins as yet, so this is new and exciting.

i have yet to have much of an opinion on the characters or main storyline yet cause i'm only about 3 chapters in.

but from the beginning... its a bit hard to start reading and keep reading. i swear Ward must have written in about 6 different POVs in the first 2 chapters. switching back and forth between that many people in two chapters is a little tizzying to keep up with for me. besides the Fallen Angel, Jim, and Vin, who they gave away in the back cover to be the first soul that needed to be saved, i have no idea who the other main character is. but chapter 3's lessened the amount of voices, so i think i'm getting who's going to be important and major in this one.

i'm getting excited to see where both will take me =D
