i've had a couple of days to mull over what i thought of the movie since seeing it on wednesday, and i think i'm clear on what i think...

before i say anything, i have to say that yes, i did like the movie. i didn't know at first whether i did or not, but now, thinking about it more.. yes i did like it. as we speak, i'm thinking of when i can go and watch it again.

the movie though, did not live up to my expectations of it. as much as i hate to say it, this is probably my least favourite of all the movies.

there was lots in it that i loved. this installment saw much more romance and comedy than any of the other movies. which would make sense, since it was like that in the book as well. the most memorable scenes in the movie for me where the romantic and comedic scenes (e.g. Harry after drinking the Felix Felicis; omg, Dan did that part so freaking perfectly. i don't remember laughin so hard watching a HP movie).

i think that was also where part of the down side of the movie is for me as well. there was so much of that, and not nearly enough action. not enogh of the main plot.

the thing with this movie, i think, is that, had you not read the book, i don't think you could appreciate the movie, nor understand it. i was watching with a friend who is not a reader of the book series, and he was thoroughly confussed with the whole movie. he just didn't get what the movie was supposed to be about. he didn't get that those few scenes of Draco (who, as mush as i loved, they made too much like a little creeper) was pretty much the main story.

even as an avid reader of the series, i too could see the randomness of the movie. there wasn't really continuous scenes. it seemed like it was a great big powerpoint presentation of the book. scene... cut... scene... cut... no flow.

i'm also disappointed with how much they did not include. not enough Pensieve scenes. and i was pretty peeved that they cut the battle at hogwarts out at the end, along with Dumbeldore's funeral. that was thoroughly disappointing.

lol, but, regardless of all the stuff i just wrote i still liked it. i'm not a little scared with how they're going to do make the Deathly Hallows. i swear, they can NOT cut things out. well, not a lot. everything's just so important. and they have a hell of a lot of new characters they've got to introduce in the last movies, since they've continued to omit they till now *cough*BILL*cough*

half-blood prince, movies, harry potter
