Fall means more than just beautiful leaves and trees that I don't actually get to see in Florida, it's TV time. Sadly, I'm currently only watching the Office and it's so much more real that Alias is gone right now than it was in May. I meant to watch Studio 60 and forgot, but I read recaps and I'll be watching this week. I'm also going to try this Brothers and Sisters show. I don't know if I'll like it but I happen to enjoy Calista and many others on the show so I can't not give it at least one try.
And now,
The Office. Seriously, the funniest, most wonderful and completely f-ed up show EVER! Words can not describe how much I laughed, cringed and just stared openmouthed as Michael made a complete ass of himself with Oscar. Although the moment that made me laugh the most with Michael came at the end when you're once again reminded of what an absolute idiot he is that he still doesn't get it with Oscar and Gil. OMG! Michael. Loving you is so very very wrong.
Jim in Stamford is WEIRD and delicious. My mom is just beside herself because she misses not Pam and Jim (although she misses that too) but Dwight and Jim. I have to say I love that he was still able to screw with Dwight from Stamford, but it's just not the same as having his reaction shots to it. Though Pam's wistful look at the end was *almost* worth it.
One thing I was struck by is how much you forget that Angela is really an uptight bitch. I've been so creeped out and yet loving the Dwight/Angela relationship that I forgot she's nasty, cruel and completely judgemental in a way that could really hurt someone. It was nice to see the show remind the viewers that she's human and sometimes she's the worst kind of human not just part of the creepiest and yet kinda cute relationship on television.
And now Jim and Pam. I love the way that they're going with this. We're left with the impression that Jim doesn't necessarily know that the wedding was called off. I have a really hard time believing that SOMEONE in that office didn't call/fax/email/skywrite it over Stamford to let Jim know about it. After all, Jim's love for Pam ... kinda the worst kept secret in the office and Kelly so totally would've been pulling for Jim to show up in a white limo with his head sticking out of the top of it and an umbrella to sweep Pam off her feet. Though she's probably really bummed out that he didn't come rushing from the airport after travelling to LA on his way to Australia only to realize he HAD to stop the wedding and then making a mad dash to the church arriving just in time for THE part of the ceremony. Kelly is the cutest and she really needs to see the Jim/Pam happy ending almost as much as viewers do. Anyway, the point is that somebody had to have let Jim know. I find it really hard to believe that after 3 months he's not aware that she's single. Now, would he do nothing about it because he feels she needs to make a move. Absolutely! The boy has put his heart on the line, it's up to her to take the next step. Unfortunately, I don't think that next step yet involves Jim. I can not WAIT for them to be back together. The tension will be so much better by then. So much love.
The Stamford branch is WEIRD to me. I've been in an office and in a small place like Scranton it's far more likely to have those crazy/family dysfunctional type places than a place as cold as the Stamford branch, but I like the stark contrast of the two. And there's just enough crazy in Ed Helms' Andy to make things interesting while Jim is there. My favorite bit though in the contrasting offices is realizing that Jim is not as normal as you always thought. It's all relative. When you're in the asylum and you're just a little crazy you do seem normal. Not so much anymore.
And omg, I almost forgot Dwight. From his fake crying/denial about missing Jim, to suggesting that Michael try just try not saying anything that would offend anyone in the office to the end with the gaydar, he is just perfectly warped, wonderful and oddly enough on occasion dead on. Dwigt!
Can't wait for next week. In the meantime this week's will be getting a workout.
