GAAH!
Serious frustration. My computer at work has been running slow. A couple rounds of back and forth with IT led to the conclusion that a RAM upgrade was in order. So the resident gearhead comes by around 11 this morning to stick in some new RAM-which seems to have worked like a charm, by the way; things are now zipping along-and somehow all my browser bookmarks and desktop icons/shortcuts disappeared. IT guy swears he never touched them; all I know is I saw him doing something in the User Profiles area, and he also emptied my Recycle Bin.
I'm spending the afternoon trying to reconstruct what I lost, which I can only even remember about half of what it was, let alone URLs. Some of the files I had saved on the desktop may be gone forever. Let that be a lesson kiddies: practice good file management technique, and back up, back up, back up.
I'm thinking about setting up yet another delicious.com account just for my bookmarks. Though among other things, it looks like whatever happened zapped my Delicious Firefox add-on too (along with all my other add-ons). Did I mention frustration?
