[So, Adstring. Hermione's been having a rough time of things recently, and just when she'd gotten over it enough to think to be social, this happens.There's one less wizard in her house. And considering what this wizard had told her was waiting for him upon his return home... this isn't exactly a good thing.
She doesn't want to think of it as Harry going off to die. He was wrong about that, obviously. There was a way out of his circumstances, there had to be, because her best friend couldn't die. None of them could. Obviously. But that doesn't make it any easier to say anything as the PCD just captures the steady stream of thoughts behind her eyes as she goes from wanting to make an announcement to the horror of realizing that she can't. She just can't. There are other people who know; let them spread the word, if they haven't already.
How do you people do this so often?
Oh Lord, and now she feels the trickle of tears down her cheeks, and she quickly wipes them away, offering all watching an embarrassed laugh. Really, Granger, put yourself together, especially when you're in front of an audience.
It's a long, long time of simply opening and closing her mouth before she finally settles on something to say, even though she wishes she'd never even turned on the stupid PCD.]
