Reviewed Article: The Jobless Generation
Author: Michael Schuman
Magazine: TIME April 16th, 2012

This article talks about the younger generation and the job crisis around the world. For the most part, it talks about college graduates from countries such as Madrid, with little focus on the United States. I agree with the article, but it's so short, that I don't think that it will inspire any change, at least not from the government. Throughout the first paragraph, I was thinking about the problems I am currently facing. I'll be graduating in two weeks, and as of right now, even with a years worth of teaching experience under my belt, I haven't even been called in for an interview. Aside from that, there's also the fact that there are very few teaching jobs available at the moment. With a failing economy, people aged 60+, those very people who should be retiring, are afraid to do just that. It also doesn't help that these people were a part of the Baby Boom Era, so there are a lot of them. I'm glad I read the article, because now I don't feel quite so bad about potentially being jobless next year, but, I'm still unsure of what to do about it.
