Jamie got his first taste of solid foods yesterday. It's earlier than I planned, but he's showing most of the signs: sitting up (not completely unsupported, but almost), chewing, no tongue-thrust, watching us eat. The only one he doesn't have is the pincer grasp. So, I decided to see how he'd do with some baby food.
Rose wouldn't let me feed her, ever, so she never really got baby food. She started eating solids when she was old enough for me to just mash things for her her to feed herself. Jamie loved it. He ate a good bit (not quite 1/4 of a jar)of peaches before he was finished. So, now I'm going to either have to invest in something that will puree fruits/veggies or resign myself to buying baby food for the next several months.
I don't want to give him too much this early, so I think what I might do is get him a sippy cup. That way on nights that he's not eating he can sit with us at dinner with a little water/breastmilk in a cup.
My children are growing too fast. Rose has her first dance class tonight. She's been talking/asking about it since her birthday. I officially signed her up last week. She threw a fit when she realized that we were leaving without her getting to go to class. She knows it starts today, and she's already asked several times.
