A Connecticut Fashionista in King Arthur's Court by Marianne Mancusi

I thought this would be funny. As in the genre was humor-time travel-adventure, or something (what with the title, you know?), not...this. What this is, is awful. Kat Jones goes to a "King Arthur Faire" and ends up in King Arthur's court. (See, you would think that would be funny, right? Wrong, oh so very wrong.)

Well it could be funny if the 1st person dialogue didn't make me want a bonfire. I've never entertained the notion of book burning, but this? This might just be the first book I burn for camp fire fuel. The voice is annoying and droning and I would like to sic dogs upon it.
I don't know I thought the "Connecticut Fashionista" bit would be a modern teen cheerleader (someone obsessed with fashion - I wasn't far off with that; and TV) learning something about history, or learning to live without modern things. Nope, not at all. She's turning thirty, not a teen, and she continues on in her annoying way (using modern slang and English) throughout it all.

Her "destined" love is Lancelot, her "best friend" is Guenevere and if she makes a bigger flop in time-travel waves then a whale.

I found hints of "Mist of Avalon" and that sort of made things worse as I would then prefer to read that all over again; and I didn't much like Marion Zimmer Bradley's "Mists of Avalon" - though I liked the later books.
