(no subject)
Okay, guys - you had your chance to stop me, and since I have received no outcries of "PLEASE STOP TORMENTING US" it looks like Costume Polling: Electric Boogaloo is a go! I decided to go with You're Beautiful, otherwise known as the one where a nun joins a boyband since I already had some episodes downloaded. (Though I will probably be alternating every so often with an episode of The Golden Girls when I don't have time to go through a full hour-long episode loking for sartorial gems.)
However as soon as I opened up episode 1 of You're Beautiful I had cause to question my decision, because - man, guys, narrowing it down to five even from this one episode was SO HARD. I am one hundred percent spoiled for choice! The pickings are too easy!
THE PLAID SUIT JACKET OF CROSS-DRESSING DID NOT EVEN MAKE THE TOP FIVE. That is how hard this decision was!
1.
Let's begin with our heroine's first super-manly crossdressing outfit. For reference, Go Mi Nyu's normal attire looks more like this:
Which in a lesser show would deserve an entry all by itself (the combo of pink star-trimmed motorcycle helmet and novice nun attire is nicely coordinated!), but it's hard to compete with slashed leather pants, a grinning death's-head t-shirt, and a LEOPARD-PRINT BASEBALL CAP.
I love the tiny little skull on her jacket. It's so weirdly charming and she looks SO TERRIFIED BY ALL OF IT (as well she should be.)

However, poor Mi Nyu realizes that her leopard-print hat is as nothing when compared to a full leopard-print dress accessorized with a GIANT FUR VEST. Stylist Wang: so fierce that dressing up as one predator just isn't enough!
She just looks so pleased with herself, too. I'm pretty sure she thinks she has the contest in the bag.

And it's true that Boy Band Heartthrob #1 Tae Kyeung actually looks pretty reasonably dressed here! Black suit, gray scarf, sensible enough . . .
UNTIL THE COWLNECK RISES FROM ITS SLUMBER AND ATTEMPTS TO DEVOUR HIS HEAD.

Meanwhile, Boy Band Heartthrob #2 Shin Woo has decided that today is the day he decides to cosplay as my grandmother.
It's the tiny pearl earrings that get me. I think I could understand everything else if it weren't for the earrings.
And the fringe.
Okay, I lied, I understand nothing.

Boy Band Heartthrob #3 Jeremy is actually coming off pretty well by comparison - I mean, if we learned anything from Capital Scandal, it's that a jaunty hat excuses any number of fashion sins.
But then we pan down to the plaid and all is once again lost.
I just - I don't even have words. Two out of three of them look like they're auditioning for Fiddler on the Roof and the third has gotten lost on his way to try out for golfing scene from High School Musical 2.
And it only gets better from here, guys. It only gets better from here.
