Well. Here I am at chez Hickey in good 'ol Brockton. Was on the train for-freaking-ever (8:30 AM-6:30 PM), but I slept most of the way and had The Chuck to keep me company. We were in coach through Albany, and then my mom upgraded us to "Business Class" for the Albany-Boston stretch. Business Class was "crucial" as my brother said, as it involved nice seats WITH CUPHOLDERS and lots of space and not many people. Plus free beverages and a New York Times (I am made happy so easily. Honestly).
Chuckles and I watched some Star Wars and dozed and read and killed time. I'd been up late last night, laundry-ing and pack-ing. So the extra sleep was real nice.
Met up with the 'rents in Boston and hit up the No Name on the Fish Pier for dinner. As one who does not much care for fish and fish-type-meals, I stuck it out with a burger. Which wasn't bad, but wasn't great.
Now I'm home. I haven't been back since March, though I was in Boston just a couple weeks ago. While I was never terribly connected to this house, I've started to feel less-so. Perhaps that is the nature of apartment hunting.
B commented as to how I've been so in-and-out this semester, and it's true. I have no groove, no stride, no consistency. This semester is not at all what I'd planned in a variety of ways, though on many levels I like it just fine.
I miss B. I didn't like going away with such little notice, but such is the way of family.and I'm missing a bunch of important stuff this weekend, but I figure that it will all work itself out. All I have to do this weekend is paper, which I figure I can squeeze in here and there.
It will be nice to see family, I'm looking forward to that. Now it's time to go claim the DVD player, because my mom is the awesomest person ever and got me Season 4 of the West Wing.
